Types of visas or residence permits in Spain
In Spain, there are several types of work residence permits available for non-EU/EEA nationals who wish to work and reside in the country. Here are some common types of work residence permits
- Work and Residence Permit (Autorización de Trabajo y Residencia): This permit is for individuals who have secured a job offer from a Spanish employer. It allows them to work and reside in Spain. The permit is usually tied to a specific job and employer.
- Highly Qualified Professionals Residence Permit (Autorización de Residencia para Profesionales Altamente Cualificados): This permit, often known as the "Golden Visa," is available for highly skilled professionals who meet specific qualification criteria. It offers a streamlined process for obtaining residency in Spain.
- EU Blue Card: Similar to other EU countries, Spain offers the EU Blue Card for highly skilled non-EU professionals. It is intended for individuals with specific qualifications and job offers in Spain. The Blue Card provides a path to long-term residence and work in Spain.
- Seasonal Work Permit (Permiso de Trabajo y Residencia para Trabajadores en Régimen de Temporada): This permit is for individuals who will be employed in Spain for a fixed period in seasonal industries such as agriculture or tourism. It is valid for a specific duration and requires a job offer from a Spanish employer.
- Entrepreneur Residence Permit (Autorización de Residencia para Emprendedores): This permit is for individuals who wish to start their own business or invest in Spain. It requires meeting specific criteria related to business plan, financial investment, and job creation.
- Researcher Residence Permit (Autorización de Residencia para Investigadores): This permit is for researchers who have been offered employment or a research project in Spain. It allows them to work and reside in the country for the purpose of conducting research.
Please note that the specific requirements, application process, and eligibility criteria for each work residence permit may vary. It is advisable to consult the official website of the Spanish immigration authorities (www.exteriores.gob.es) or contact the nearest Spanish embassy or consulate for accurate and up-to-date information regarding work residence permits in Spain.
